Bungo Stray Dogs Season 4 has revealed the 2nd trailer ahead of the show’s January 2023 premiere date. They’ve also introduced Sigma, who is voiced by Shoya Chiba. Studio Bones is in charge of the animation, with Takuya Igarashi as the director. You can watch the new trailer:
Bungo Stray Dogs Season 4 – 2nd Anime Trailer
Prior to Sigma, Yohei Azakami and Yuki Kaji joined the cast as Tetcho Suehiro and Saigiku Jono. The main cast for the anime includes Mamoru Miyano as Osamu Dazai, Yuto Uemura as Atsushi Nakajima, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Doppo Kunikida, Hiroshi Kamiya as Ranpo Edogawa, Kensho Ono as Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Kishio Taniyama as Chuya Nakahara, all of who are reprising their roles. The first trailer also introduced some new characters, and they are Ochi Fukuchi (CV: Akio Otsuka), Teruko Okura (CV: Makoto Koichi), Nikolai Gogol (CV: Takehito Koyasu), and Mushitaro Oguri (CV: Takeshi Kusao).
Bungo Stray Dogs is based on a manga by Kafka Asagiri, with illustrations by Harukawa35. Its was first serialized in 2012 in Young Ace magazine, with Yen Press licensing it in English. A prequel manga with art by Sango Harukawa currently ongoing in Kadokawa Beans Bunko magazine.
The anime adaptation first aired in the Spring of 2016, with a second season following in the fall season of the same year. Season 3 aired in 2019. The franchise also has a movie titled Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple. Crunchyroll streams the TV anime and movie, and they describe the story:
Kicked out of his orphanage and on the verge of starving to death, Nakajima Atsushi meets some strange men. One of them, Dazai Osamu, is a suicidal man attempting to drown himself in broad daylight. The other, bespectacled Kunikida Doppo, nervously stands by flipping through a notepad. Both are members of the “Armed Detective Agency” said to solve incidents that even the military and police won’t touch. Atsushi ends up accompanying them on a mission to eliminate a man-eating tiger that’s been terrorizing the population…
There is also a 2017 OVA titled Bungo Stray Dogs: Walking Alone, as well as an upcoming stage play titled Storm Bringer which was announced earlier this year. A live-action movie is also in the works.
