Haikyu movie revealed a birthday trailer for Tobio Kageyama at midnight on December 22, JST. Tobio Kageyama was voiced by Kaito Ishikawa in the anime. The voice actor made an appearance at this year’s Jump Festa this weekend.
In addition to the birthday trailer, Tobio Kageyama also got a comparison video with his teammate Shoyo Hinata, who is voiced by Ayumu Murase. Both characters will appear in the upcoming finale of the Haikyu series, which will be split into two movies.
Production I.G animated the anime adaptation of the Haikyu (stylized as Haikyu!!) series. Season 1 aired in 2014, followed by the sequel which started in the Fall of 2015 and finished in the Winter of 2016, with both having 25 episodes. Season 3, titled Haikyu!! Karasuno High School vs Shiratorizawa Academy had 10 episodes that aired in the Fall of 2016. Haikyu!! Riku vs Kuu OVA serves as its sequel. The latest installment of the anime Haikyuu!! To the Top aired over two cours – first in Winter 2020 and second in Fall 2020. In addition to the TV anime, the franchise also spawned multiple recap movies, OVAs, side stories, and an omake.
Haikyu is based on a manga by Haruichi Furudate which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2020. The manga ended after 405 chapters, compiled into 45 volumes. Viz Media licensed it in English and describes the plot as:
