The upcoming Oshi no Ko anime revealed a Christmas visual featuring Ai on Saturday. The anime unveiled a trailer and a key visual in the middle of December during a live-stream on YouTube. The anime is scheduled to premiere in April 2023.
Rie Takahashi, known for her roles as Megumin from KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! series, Takagi-san in the Teasing Master Takagi-san series, is voicing the character in Oshi no Ko anime adaptation.
The Oshi no Ko anime is based on a manga series written by Aka Akasaka known as the manga author of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and illustrated by Mengo Yokari, who is best known for her manga series Scum’s Wish. The manga has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine since April 2020. The series released the first compiled volume in July 2022 and the newest, 9th compiled volume in October 2022. The manga surpassed 3.8 million circulating copies. Viz Media licensed the manga and describes the plot of volume 1 as:
Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realize that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense!
