The ongoing anime The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten is doing a special visual project called “Always With You” showcasing the main character Mahiru Shiina across various tourist spots in Japan. The special project will encompass all 47 prefectures in Japan, with new visuals per prefecture released every week.
At the moment, the special visuals for the prefectures of Hokkaido, Tohoku, and Kanto have been released. Visuals include Shiina visiting Chinatown in Kanagawa City, frolicking in the blue flowers of Ibaraki, an oceanarium in Tokyo, and cherry blossoms in Ichigi, among others. The full visuals can be viewed at the special project’s site.
The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten previously featured Shiina on seasonal visuals, including summer and autumn, as well as other occasions like the New Year, Christmas, Halloween, and the fall moon viewing festival.
The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten is animated by Project No.9, with Kenichi Imaizumi directing it. Meanwhile, Keiichiro Oochi is in charge of the series composition, Takayuki Noguchi is the character designer, while Moe Hyuuga is composing the music. The main cast members include:
- Taito Ban as Amane Fujimiya
- Manaka Iwami as Mahiru Shiina
- Taku Yahiro as Itsuki Akazawa
- Haruka Shiraishi as Chitose Shirakawa
The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten anime is based on a 2018 light novel series by Saekisan and illustrated by Hanekoto. It was first posted on Shosetsuka ni Naro in December before being acquired by SB Creative, after which it was published under its GA Bunko label in June 2019. It then received a manga adaptation with art by Wan Shibata and composition by Suzu Yuki. It is serialized in Square Enix’s Manga UP! since January 2020.
Yen Press has licensed the light novel in English, describing the plot as:
Mahiru is a beautiful girl whose classmates all call her an “angel.” Not only is she a star athlete with perfect grades—she’s also drop-dead gorgeous. Amane‚ an average guy and self-admitted slob‚ has never thought much of the divine beauty‚ despite attending the same school. Everything changes‚ however‚ when he happens to see Mahiru sitting alone in a park during a rainstorm. Thus begins the strange relationship between this incredibly unlikely pair!
