The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten anime revealed the non-credit version of the opening and the ending following today’s premiere. “Gift” by Masayoshi Oishi is the opening theme song:
The anime is listed with a total of 12 episodes, which will be available on four Blu-ray and DVD volumes. The release date of the first one is set for May 17 and the cover features Mahiru:
Studio Project No.9 is animating the adaptation under Wang Lihua’s direction. The main cast includes:
- Taito Ban as Amane Fujimiya
- Manaka Iwami as Mahiru Shiina
- Taku Yahiro as Itsuki Akazawa
- Haruka Shiraishi as Chitose Shirakawa
The anime is based on Saekisan’s The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten light novel series, originally published on Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2018. The series received a printed light novel version in GA Bunko (SB Creative’s imprint) in 2019. Hanekoto illustrated the light novel. The series was licensed by Yen Press in English:
Mahiru is a beautiful girl whose classmates all call her an “angel.” Not only is she a star athlete with perfect grades—she’s also drop-dead gorgeous. Amane‚ an average guy and self-admitted slob‚ has never thought much of the divine beauty‚ despite attending the same school. Everything changes‚ however‚ when he happens to see Mahiru sitting alone in a park during a rainstorm. Thus begins the strange relationship between this incredibly unlikely pair!
