The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses manga announced its anime adaptation on Friday along with the premiere date that is set for sometime in 2023. Koume Fujichika is running the series on Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker magazine.
The official Twitter account of The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses series posted an illustration drawn by the manga author for the anime announcement. The main characters, the protagonist Kaede Komura (left) and the glasses girl Ai Mie (right) without her glasses, are holding a white board that has the text with the anime adaptation announcement and the premiere date.
Koume Fujichika originally launched the manga on Twitter and began the ongoing serialization on Monthly Gangan Joker in November of 2019. The series released the first compiled volume in February 2019 and the latest, ninth, volume in June 2022. The tenth volume’s release is set for January 20, 2023.
The official English edition has been digitally available on Comikey and Square Enix has been publishing the compiled volumes. The official website describes the plot as:
“If we can continue to keep getting closer like this, I’ll be happy…”
Kaede Komura has a huge crush on his seat partner, Mie-san. She, however, has terrible eyesight, and tends to either forget or break her glasses! Komura-kun offers her a helping hand, and as they grow closer, their feelings for each other grow too.
