Urusei Yatsura’s Lum Appears In This Witty Ad for Georgia Coffee

In the 15-second ad, a businessman visits a convenience store, trying to buy a coffee for work. Out of nowhere, Lum appears and recommends he try Georgia Japan Craftsman. He is briefly stunned by Lum’s appearance and then he gets literally stunned: similar to how Lum uses her powers in the series.

The ad also uses “Aiwanamchu” by MAISONdes and asmi, which serves as the second opening theme song for the Urusei Yatsura reboot. As part of the campaign, limited merchandise will be also released, as well as online stickers for LINE.

Viz Media is publishing the Urusei Yatsura manga in English and describes the plot as:
In a high-stakes game of tag, Ataru must touch Lum’s horns in ten days—or aliens will take over the earth! The fact that Lum can fly doesn’t make Ataru’s job any easier. As it turns out, the game of tag is only the beginning of Ataru’s troubles, as he continues to attract strange encounters with otherworldly beings like beautiful snow spirit Oyuki and the sexy crow goblin Princess Kurama!
