Season 2 of the original anime Birdie Wing is set to premiere on April 7. As part of the announcement, a key visual has been revealed. Birdie Wing‘s sequel was supposed to air this January but was postponed to April. The specific reason was not given, although the official website states that the delay happened due to “various circumstances.”
Cast of the first season of the anime will return to reprise their roles this season:
- Akari Kito as Eve
- Asami Seto as Aoi Amawashi
- Shuichi Ikeda as Leo Millafoden
- Toru Furuya as Reiya Amuro
- Akira Sekine as Lily Lipman
- Ami Koshimizu as Amane Shinjo
Information about the new theme songs was recently announced as well. Kohmi Hirose is singing the opening theme song, titled “Venus Line,” while Sarasa Kadowaki is performing the ending theme song “Kimi ga Iru Kara.”
Birdie Wing: Golf Girl’s Story is produced and animated by Bandai Namco Picture (formerly known as Sunrise). Takayuki Inagaki served as the director, Kei Ajiki did character designs, and Yousuke Kuroda oversaw the series composition. The same studio and staff are returning for the second season.
The official website describes the plot as:
Nafres, a country in Europe. Golf prodigy Eve spends her days betting on golf to earn a living.
One day, she has a fateful encounter with Aoi Amawashi, the daughter of the owner of a large corporation and an elite golf player. The two are both geniuses, but, they live in completely different worlds. Eve, the “Rainbow Bullet”, and Aoi, the “Innocent Tyrant” both genuinely enjoy golf without being pressured. The two are attracted to each other, influenced by each other, and also change each other. This is a golf girl’s story where talent collides with talent.
