Helck anime revealed a teaser trailer and a key visual, along with July 2023 premiere date and cast information earlier this week. HIDIVE will be streaming the adaptation which will be animated by studio Satelight.
Tatsuo Sato is directing the Helck anime (announced in February 2022) with Yoshinori Deno as the character designer. Mitsutaka Hirota and Toshizo Nemoto are writing the scripts and Yoshihisa Hirano is composing the music. The cast includes:
- Katsuyuki Konishi as Helck
- Mikako Komatsu as Vermilio
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Azudra
- Akira Ishida as Hon
- Shiki Aoki as Asta
- Haruka Shiraishi as Ista
- Hiroyuki Yoshino as Kenros
- Rena Maeda as Hyura
Helck manga by Nanaki Nanao was serialized in Ura Sunday from May 5, 2014, to December 8, 2017, and has a total of 106 chapters compiled in 12 volumes. Viz Media is publishing it in English.
HIDIVE describes the plot of the upcoming anime as:
A certain country in the demon world. The Demon King was defeated by the hands of one of the heroes, and a competition was held for the title of the New Demon King.
