The previously announced Masamune-kun’s Revenge Season 2 has been delayed to July 2023, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the production schedule. The anime was scheduled to premiere in April. Studio Furyu is animating the sequel.
Before the delay announcement, Masamune-kun’s Revenge Season 2 revealed a trailer:
The anime is based on a manga written by Hazuki Takeoka and illustrated by Tiv, which was serialized in Ichijinsha’s Monthly ComicREX from 2012 to 2018. The first season of the anime adaptation by SILVER LINK. aired from January to March 2017 with and had a total of 12 episodes. An OAD from 2018 also exists. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English; all 11 volumes have been published.
Crunchyroll is streaming the anime and describes the plot as:
“I’ve returned to this town for revenge!” Eight years ago, Makabe Masamune, a weak and chubby boy, was harshly rejected by the beautiful Adagaki Aki. Now, he’s lost a ton of weight, changed his name, and returned as a handsome teenage boy… all to make the “Brutal Princess” Aki fall in love with him so that he can reject her just as harshly as she did.
