The Eminence in Shadow has released episode 18’s preview images and trailers. The episode will air on February 1, 2023, and we will finally witness the long-awaited battle between Cid and Annerose. You can watch the trailers below:

The Eminence in Shadow is currently on its second cour and has 17 episodes available. HIDIVE has been streaming the show since October 5, 2022. Studio Nexus is animating the series with Kazuya Nakanishi as the director. You can also check out the preview images below:
The anime is based on Daisuke Aizawa’s The Eminence in Shadow (Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!) light novel series. Enterbrain has been serializing it with Tozai’s illustrations since 2018, and it currently has 5 volumes available. Yen Press is publishing the light novel series in English. The anime currently adapting the second volume and you can read its plot below:
Cid pays a visit to the Sacred Land, where he finds himself getting roped into the Goddess’s Trial. It’s a ritual event that summons warriors from the past to engage with only the most worthy from the present.
