The Uncle From Another World anime received a commemorative finale visual and trailer as the series came to its season 1 ending on March 8. The anime aired for a total of 13 episodes. Watch the trailer:
The anime began airing in the Summer 2022 anime season, but was delayed and ended up restarting the broadcast in the Fall 2022 season. However, due to the spread of COVID-19 in China, the broadcast of the finale was postponed.
Uncle From Another World anime was animated by studio Atelier Pontdarc, with direction from Shigeki Kawai. Meanwhile, Kazuhiro Ota served as the character designer and chief animation director, with Kenta Ihara as the scriptwriter and working on the series composition. Check out the new visual:
The main cast includes:
- Takehito Koyasu as Ojisan/Uncle,
- Jun Fukuyama as Takafumi
- Mikako Komatsu as Fujimiya
- Aoi Yuki as Mabel
- Aki Toyosaki as Alicia
- Haruka Tomatsu as Elf
Uncle From Another World is based on a manga by Hotondoshindeiru. Yen Press licensed it in English and describes the plot as:
Seventeen years ago, Takafumi’s uncle fell into a coma, but now he’s back like a man risen from his grave. Soon, Takafumi discovers two bizarre things: His uncle treasures video games above all else, and, while comatose, he was actually transported to another world as some heroic guardian! Now, not only does Takafumi have to room with an uncle who is literally magical, he also has to catch the guy up on two decades of history—smartphones, high-speed internet, modern anime tropes…and the traumatic outcome of the ’90s console war!
