My New Boss Is Goofy Gets Episode 1 Preview

The long-awaited anime adaptation of My New Boss Is Goofy (Atarashi Joshi wa Do Tennen) is almost here, as episode 1 is set to premiere on October 7, Saturday. Studio A-1 Pictures is animating it, with Noriyuki Abe as the director.

The story follows the life of Kentaro Momose, a 26-year-old office worker, who recently decided to change jobs after he experienced harassment from his previous boss. Even now in his new job, he’s worried that his new boss might also put him through the same power harassment. To his surprise, he discovers that Yusei Shirosaki, his new boss, is natural at being an airhead, which makes Momose’s anxieties and worries diminish.

The official Twitter /X of My New Boss Is Goofy posted a synopsis and some preview pictures for episode 1:
Momose’s mind and stomach were affected by power harassment from his boss, so he quit his previous job and took a job in sales at an advertising agency. However, due to his past trauma, he becomes worried, “What will I do if this new boss is also a power harasser?” Early on his first day at work, while making rounds, he suffers from severe stomach pain and is unable to move. “I might get kicked if I don’t stand up quickly,” Momose was worrying inwardly, but his new boss, Shirasaki, who was with him, did something that surprised him…?!

The cast of the My New Boss Is Goofy anime includes:

  • Kotaro Nishiyama as Kentaro Momose
  • Yuichiro Umehara as Yusei Shirosaki
  • Tomokazu Seki as Mitsuo Aoyama
  • Hiro Shimono as Hakuto
  • Jun Fukuyama as Satoshi Kinjo

Ayako Kono will be the assistant director of the series. Masahiro Yokotani, on the other hand, will handle the series composition with Takahiro Yasuda as the character designer and the chief animation director. Masato Nakayama is in charge of the music with Jin Aketagawa as the sound director.

My New Boss is Goofy – Trailer

Dan Ichikawa is writing the My New Boss Is Goofy manga which has been published in Manga Cross since 2019 and has sold over 500,000 copies in total. The official website of the anime previously released a trailer and a visual, as well as the theme songs of the anime with Fujifabric’s “PLANETARIA” as the opening and Lenny code fiction’s “Hanataba” as the ending.
