Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End TV anime previewed episode 12, “A Real Hero,” on Tuesday. The episode is slated to premiere on Friday, November 24, and will be available to stream on Crunchyroll, Bilibili Global, Muse Asia, and Netflix. It’s continuing after the Aura arc epilogue from last week, and the synopsis of the upcoming episode is described:
Frieren and her friends arrive at the village of swords where Himmel pulled out the “Sword of the Brave” 80 years ago. The sword can only be pulled out by those who can defeat the scourge that will destroy the world. Frieren was there to confront the demons springing up in the vicinity of the village and in her mind, the events of 80 years ago came back…
Keiichiro Saito (Bocchi the Rock!) is directing the series at studio Madhouse (A Place Further Than The Universe) with Tomohiro Suzuki (One Punch Man) as the scriptwriter, Evan Call (Violet Evergarden) as the music composer, and Reiko Nagasawa (takt op. Destiny) as the character designer. Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya Forger from Spy x Family) voices the titular character Frieren while Kana Ichinose (Suletta Mercury from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury) and Chiaki Kobayashi (Gabimaru from Hell’s Paradise) play the role of Ferna and Stark respectively. YOASOBI performs the opening theme song “Yuusha” and milet sings the ending theme song titled “Anytime Anywhere.’

After the party of heroes defeated the Demon King, they restored peace to the land and returned to lives of solitude. Generations pass, and the elven mage Frieren comes face to face with humanity’s mortality. She takes on a new apprentice and promises to fulfill old friends’ dying wishes. Can an elven mind make peace with the nature of life and death? Frieren embarks on her quest to find out.
