Yusuke Murata, the artist of One-Punch Man and Eyeshield 21 manga series, revealed that he started a new anime production studio. Murata didn’t reveal more details in a post shared on his personal X/Twitter account, but his announcement attracted comments from many industry professionals, including mangaka George Morikawa (Hajime no Ippo) and Asuka Baito, as well as veteran animator Masaaki Endo.
In addition to One-Punch Man (written by ONE) and Eyeshield 21 (written by Riichiro Inagaki), Murata is known as the author and artist of multiple one-shots such as Blust!, Madofuki Park, Minds, and more. As an artist, he worked on Donten Prism Solar Car and many one-shots that include Science vs. Magic, Gokiburi Buster, and Heroes of Fury.
Earlier this year, Murata directed the trailer for the BRAIN x BRAVE one-shot from the Eyeshield 21 series, which will be released on January 29. The trailer was done in collaboration with Village Studio and Kome Studio. This isn’t the first time that Murata worked with Village Studio: in 2021 he directed a short One-Punch Man anime special, titled Go! Saitama.
Yusuke Murata and Village Studio are also working on a new original anime, titled Zaiyuki. The artist shared some clips of the project on his personal account, calling it a “pilot.” The clips don’t have sound:
